59% shift from allopathy to Homoeopathy in India – IMRB report

homeopathy 59The study conducted by Indian Market Research Bureau (IMRB) http://www.imrbint.com/  on ‘Acceptance of Homoeopathy in India’ across cosmopolitan and metropolitan cities in the country has revealed interesting findings on consumer insights pertaining to their perception of homoeopathy.

Moreover, 77 per cent of people believe that homoeopathy is the best form of treatment in terms of long term benefits, the report claims.

A computer-based programme interview among a total of 1,228 online panel respondents was conducted in Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Pune and Hyderabad by IMRB International for a private clinic.

The report states that a majority of people used homepathy to treat ailments like hair loss, dandruff, allergies, back ache and joint pain.

The report further suggests that in the last one year, an average person spent Rs 9,108 on homoeopathy and Rs 12,907 on allopathy.

The study also highlights that over 77 per cent people believe that homoeopathy works best in chronic and lifestyle related diseases as they don’t find complete relief from allopathy.

Another reason for the shift, cites the report, is the people looking for holistic healthcare options and the strong feeling that homeopathic treatment is safer than allopathy.
