Union Minister of State for Labour Kodikunnil Suresh has said that the Union government has in principle taken a decision to include the homoeopathy in the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).
Sanction will be accorded to provide homoeopathic treatment through all ESIC dispensaries and hospitals.
Mr. Suresh was inaugurating a State conference and scientific seminar of the Indian Homoeopathic Medical Association (IHMA) in Kerala on Sunday. He said that while homoeopathy departments had been made mandatory at all hospitals run directly by the ESIC, the responsibility of posting doctors at the dispensaries vested with the States.
If State governments placed a suggestion before the ESIC Director Board on the need to appoint homoeopathy doctors at ESIC dispensaries, the board would seriously consider the same.[Source]
