Homoeopathy in veterinary practice – Proposal for a joint venture

Kerala : The joint meeting of Veterinary- Homoeopathy doctors held at Veterinary university campus Pookode, Kerala has made some  recommendations for legal introduction of Homoeopathy in Animal treatment.

The major advantages of official recognition of Homoeopathy practice in Veterinary science are,

1. We can prove that Homoeopathy is not a placebo medicine. Animals have no placebo effect
2. Homoeopathic medicine manufacturers will get an official profitable market.
3. Many Homoeopaths will be called upon as faculties in Veterinary field.

Recommendations
The  Seminar  reveals  that  Homoeopathy  is  found  to  be  an  effective  treatment  modality  for  animal  diseases  besides  it  being  Animal  friendly  (safe,  simple  and  gentle medicine sans any harmful side effects),  Human friendly (providing residue-less and  safety animal  by  products  ensuring    food  security)  .Farmers  friendly  (easily  affordable administerable,    and  available)  and  Economic  friendly(cost  effective).  In  the  light  of  the above  revelations,  Kerala  Veterinary    &  Animal  Sciences    University  should  take  the  following steps to include Homoeopathy in Veterinary Practice

A.  Primary Steps:
1.  A comprehensive    booklet  throwing  light  on  the  various  deliberations    of  the  Seminar  may  be  published  for  the  information  and  awareness  among  the  veterinarians, students  and the public.

2. Three  Zonal  wise  Seminars  extending  over  two  days  may  be    caused  to  be conducted at the College of Veterinary  and Animal Science, Pookode, Waynnad (for northern region), Veterinary College, Mannuthy (for mid region), and  Kerala Veterinary    Council  Hall  (for  southern  region)  for    attracting      more  Vets    by  creating in them enough enthusiasm and  interest  in Veterinary Homoeopathy

3.  The    libraries    in  the    Veterinary      Colleges,  State  Veterinary  Council  and  the  University  shall  be  provided  with  all  available  publications,  books,  journals pamphlets, CDs, research papers etc in Veterinary Homoeopathy.
