Eligibility For Admission
(i) Candidates should be citizens of India and should have undergone BHMS Course in the State of Tamil Nadu
(ii) Candidates of Tamil Nadu Nativity who have completed BHMS in other States should furnish a Certificate of Nativity in Tamil Nadu issued by the competent authority only in the specified format in Annexure – I and supported by a copy of passport / Ration card /voter’s I.D/ Driving License / Permanent Medical Registration Certificate. If the copy of the Supporting document is not produced, then the application will not be considered. Nativity Certificate submitted later will be summarily rejected.
(iii) Candidate should possess the Degree of Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery or equivalent qualification in Homoeopathy included in the Second Schedule to the Homoeopathy Central Council Act, 1973 (59 of 1973)
(iv) Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (Graded Degree) or equivalent qualification in Homoeopathy included in the Second Schedule to the Homoeopathy Central Council Act,1973(59 of 1973)
(v) Those candidates who are undergoing CRRI and will be completing their CRRI before the Entrance examination should enclose a certificate from Head of the Institution in which they are undergoing the CRRI that they will be completing the CRRI before the date of Entrance examination, failing which their application will be rejected.
(vi) The candidates should have registered their names either in the Central Council of Homoeopathy Medicine New Delhi (or) in the Tamil Nadu Homoeopathy Medical Council, Chennai. Candidates should produce the certificate before counseling. Candidates should possess BHMS Degree of Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University or of any other University recognized as equivalent to Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University and recognized by the Central Council of Homoeopathy.
Candidates who have qualified from other universities should produce ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE from Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Guindy, Chennai 600 032 before counseling, failing which they will notbe considered for selection.
Mode of selection and admission : ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
Candidates seeking admission should write the Entrance Examination conducted by the Selection Committee of this Department during the current academic year. Admission to the course will be made on merit, based on the marks obtained in the Entrance Examination to be conducted exclusively for the course added to post-
BHMS experience marks that will be calculated as below:
For Written Entrance Examination : 90 marks
For post BHMS Experience : 10 marks
Total 100 marks
Question paper
The question paper will have two hundred (200) objective-type questionsComprising
- ‘Section A’ containing a maximum of 100 ( one hundred) self-contained objective-type questions based on the fifteen theory subjects taught in the BHMS programme
- ‘Section B’ containing about 100 (one hundred ) questions based on a short passage (paragraph) which will be given and 3 – 5 objective type questions set based on the paragraph.
In case more than one candidate has secured the same number of marks the tie shall be resolved on the basis of the following factors in the order of priority.
i) Marks obtained in the Entrance Examination
ii) Percentage of marks obtained in the Final year examination (Theory,Oral and Clinical marks).
iii) Least number of attempts in passing the final BHMS examination.
iv)Senior in Age will be preferred.
The Entrance Examination will primarily assess the knowledge and maturity of understanding of the candidate of all medical subjects- theory and clinical, taught at the undergraduate level (BHMS). The Entrance Examination will be at the Undergraduate level and will test Clinical knowledge covering all subjects taught
The questions will be of objective multiple choice type for which four answer options A, B, C, D will be offered.
Only one of the options will be the nearest and correct answer and this alone should be selected. The other three answers will be wrong. The correct answer has been verified by a team of Doctors by referring to relevant texts.
Each correct answer will be awarded one mark if a question is not answered, zero marks will be awarded. If more than one answer is indicated or any item is marked very faintly or illegibly as seen during the machine scan of answer sheets, the question will be deemed to have not been answered and zero marks will be awarded. It is reiterated that all questions carry equal marks.
