Indian Homoeopathy Medical Association Kerala submitted suggestion on the inclusion of homoeopathy projects in the Kerala Health Policy 2016
The Kerala Model health care policy is much appreciated by many national and international health care providers. The ultimate aim should always be to provide the best health care to the populace and at the same time financially affordable to all sectors of the society. While formulating the health policy, utmost care should be taken to ensure that the present policy should in no way be contradictory to the recently implemented Kerala AYUSH Health care policy
OBJECTIVES
- Appropriate integration of traditional and alternative systems of medicine including Homoeopathy into the main health care delivery system and programmes for the benefit of public.
- Establishment of holistic treatment centres throughout the state to ensure maximum utilization of the uniqueness of each of the treatment system by healthy cross-referral systems
- Strengthening of public health care services by modernising and improving the infrastructure facilities of health care delivery centres.
- Formulating/remodelling health care delivery programmes in tribal health care, wellness care, palliative care, communicable/ non communicable disease treatment, cancer care, special child care, geriatric care, maternal and mental health care, adolescent care, sports medicine, life style diseases management, de-addiction, infertility treatment etc.
- Inclusion of health related topics in primary education. Upgrading the standards of medical education, uplifting of the infrastructure of the medical educational institutions. Introduction of new medical/paramedical courses.
- Introducing and promoting academic, clinical, drug related and extra mural research activities.
- Publishing and documenting health care delivery programmes for propagation and assessment.
- Improving the clinical capability of practitioners, educationalist, researchers and students from different systems of medicines.
- Improving and standardising drug manufacturing industry. Establishing quality assurance services.
- Strengthening of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) for the propagation and promotion of different systems of medicine.
- Improving information system for proper medical documentation and record keeping.
- Providing Financial Allocations / Incentives / Subsidies for qualified medical practitioners.
- Improving governance for more central assistance through AYUSH department and NAM funding to empower development of AYUSH systems in the state, as enjoyed by the NHM.
- Strengthening of the institutional capacity at the state level.
- Formulating/Improving regulatory framework in health education, treatment and drug industry.
