ICMR-NATIONAL INSTITUTE TRADITIONAL MEDICINE Nehru Nagar, Belagavi- Karnataka. 590 010 

Applications are invited for filling up one vacancy for the post of Scientist B: Non- Medical, in Pay Level- 10 (VIIth CPC)- equivalent to pre-revised scale PB-3 (Rs. 15,600-39,100) + Grade Pay Rs. 5400 at ICMR-NITM, Belagavi within 60 days from the date of publication of the advertisement under the ICMR Health Research Scientist Cadre Rule, 2007, as amended from time to time. 

Essential Qualification: 1st class Master’s degree in Plant Sciences from a recognized University OR 2nd Class M.Sc in Plant Sciences + Ph. D degree in relevant subject from a recognized University. 

Desirable Qualification: 

  • (i)  Doctorate Degree in relevant subject i.e., in AYUSH systems/ Traditional Medicines/ Medicinal Plants from a recognized university.
  • (ii)  Minimum two years of R&D experience in Ayurveda/AYUSH/ Traditional Medicine in recognized Institutions after obtaining essential qualification as evidenced by publications in journals of repute.
  • (iii)  Knowledge of Computer Applications.

2) Application form (Hard Copy Only) duly completed in all respects and signed by the applicant should be sent to the Director-in-Charge, ICMR-National Institute Traditional Medicine, Nehru Nagar, Belagavi- 590010, so as to reach us within 60 days from the date of publication of the advertisement 

Notes: 

1. Ph.D. degree in relevant subjects shall be treated equivalent to three years experience. 

2. Selection Procedure: A written examination of the eligible candidates will be conducted. Candidates will be called for personal discussion/ interview on merit, on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination. The final selection will be as per criteria adopted by ICMR and decision of the Director General, ICMR will be final in this regards. 

Written Test: The Written test would be of 100 marks consisting of 100 objective/ MCQ type questions of one mark each for the correct answer. The final score will be computed for a maximum of 40 marks based on the marks obtained in the written test of 100 marks. For each wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. Out of 100 questions, 90 questions will be objective/ MCQ type and 10 objective/ MCQ for analytical skills.
