Central Council of Homoeopathy published revised post graduate Homoeopathy regulations dated 2nd March 2012
Applicable to 2012 Admission onwards
This regulations may be called Homoeopathy (Postgraduate Degree Course) MD (Hom) (Amendment ) Regulations 2012
CCH revised the syllabus and pattern of examinations drastically. This is more or less similar to first postgraduate homeopathy syllabus and seems to be more beneficial to Homeopathy and Homoeopathy students.
The earlier syllabus is just like a repetition of BHMS syllabus – re reading Anatomy to Practice of medicine- with less importance to Homoeopathic subjects.
Major amendments are
- Completely omitted Man in Health & Man in Disease
- Students has to opt One main and One subsidiary subject
- Students can opt – Organon of Medicine, Materia Medica, Repertory, Homeopathic pharmacy, Practice of Medicine, Pediatrics or Psychiatry as Main subjects of their PG specialty. PG will be awarded in that subject
- They must opt and appear for the examinations in either – Organon of Medicine, Materia Medica, Repertory as their Subsidiary subject.
- As in the past they have to appear for Research Methodology, History of Medicine & Statistics as a separate paper after one and half year.
- Candidates of Organon of Medicine, Materia Medica, Repertory and Pharmacy has to study and appear for examinations in Practice of Medicine in Part. 1 & Part.II examinations.
- For Practice of Medicine, Pediatrics and Psychiatry students – Materia Medica is compulsory. Plus they have to appear for an examination in either Repertory or Organon of Medicine in Part. I MD
- In Part.II Examinations- there are two papers on the concerned specialty, One paper in Practice of Medicine and One paper in the subsidiary subject.
- For Practice of Medicine, Pediatrics and Psychiatry students – two papers on the concerned specialty, One paper in Materia Medica and One paper in the subsidiary subject.
Pass Mark
No Marks but Pass or Fail
The students shall be declared “Pass” if he gets 40% marks separately in theory & Practical including Viva-voce examinations along with 50% aggregates in each subjects.
Relaxed norms related to Institute
- An institute running BHMS courses for consecutive 5 years are eligible for running PG Courses
- At least two teachers in the concerned specialty required
- One full time professor or Reader only required
- One Lecturer on full time basis
- In Psychiatry & Pediatrics – two assistance or attendants only required
- 250 patients – OPD + IPD per day
- One bed embarked per student in addition to BHMS course
- Student – Guide Ratio – 3 : 1 in case of Professor
- Student – Guide Ratio – 2 : 1 in case of Reader
- Student – Guide Ration – 1 : 1 in case of Lecturer with 8 years teaching experience
- The supervisor or Guide shall be from the same teaching institute only
De-merits
The Organon of Medicine, Materia Medica, Repertory syllabus are same for both Main and Subsidiary. No clear cut demarcation. It seems to be difficult to concentrate on the concerned specialty – for example a Matertia Medica main students if opting Repertory as the subsidiary subject- he has to study he entire Repertory syllabus of the Repertory Main(Specialty) student.
Any way this syllabus is more beneficial to Homeopathy comparing to previous syllabus

Mansoor Sir,
Whats ur opinion? It really means for all the students.
I think CCH is spoiling homeopathy and the life of students who are willing to opt homeopathy as a carrier option specially who are willing to do pg in Homeopathy (MD.
There is no system to maintain quality in education. New guidelines n rules will help “degree Shops” to get permission to open extension counters for MD.
Already none of college is fulfilling basic criteria to establish and run a homeopathic college.
So strange so called “Medical Colleges of Homeopathy” are being run in small houses. where u cant run a good nursing home or a 30-50 bedded Hospital.
At the end they declare u pass or fail only, but what the criteria will be no one knows? How can a student get reevaluation? How monopoly of colleges can be addressed, I think no one knows.
Its more shameful is, People who are in position to stop such thing are sitting at clinics and are speechless.
We (Homeopaths) have list of sites, federations, associations, unions, groups, etc but what really they are doing?
Cant they protest against such faulty education system.
Good change
Sir, will this amendments be in force from new batch or also applicable for those who had taken admission in 2010-11 or 2011-12 batch?
From 2012 admission onwards
