Academic Council of the KUHS (Kerala University of Health Sciences) unanimously rejected the three member Sub Committee report to equalize External PG with Regular PG in Homoeopathy.
A three member committee headed by the Pro VC Dr Ratnakaran, recommended the University to equalise External MD with Regular MD – on the ground that Central council of Homoeopathy equalised the both, and even TC Medical Council approved it.
Kerala is the only state in India, where External MD is not considered as par with Regular MD.
Earlier Govt. of Kerala, Calicut University and Kerala University also rejected the plea by External MD teachers and Central Council of Homoeopathy – On the ground that External MD is not maintaining the academic standards required for a post graduate course in medical field.
Earlier CCH issued a show cause notice to KUHS, to equalize external MD with regular MD in Homoeopathy
KUHS also rejected some nursing certificates on the ground that, the duration of courses are different with nursing courses conducted by KUHS.
