The Department of Ayush (Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy, and Yoga) will start wellness centres in all 14 districts in the State.
In Thiruvananthapuram, there will be two more centres, one in the Assembly and the other at the Secretariat for the public representatives and government employees respectively.
In all other districts, the Ayurveda or Homoeopathy centres will be chosen to begin the wellness centres.
The projects are part of the public health initiative of the National Ayush Mission, says M. Beena, secretary, Department of Ayush.
The department had received Rs.9.5 crore for the project for 2014-15 and a proposal for Rs.11.6 crore for 2015-16 has also been sanctioned.
Delay in the allotment of funds had stalled the implementation of the project, says State Programme Manager Balachandran Nair. The funds for 2014-15 landed only in March 2015. http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/kerala/ayush-to-have-wellness-centres-in-all-districts/article7618138.ece
