Notification : New Delhi, the 2nd March, 2012
N0. 12-2/2006-CCH (Pt.) 31254.—In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (i), (j) and (k) of Section 33 and sub-section (1) of Section 20 of the Homoeopathy Central Council Act, 1973 (59 of 1973), the Central Council of Homoeopathy, with the previous sanction of the Central Government, hereby makes the following regulations further to amend the Homoeopathy (Post Graduate Degree Course) M.D. (Hom.) Regulations, 1989, namely ;
1 1. These regulations may be called the Homoeopathy (Post Graduate Degree Course) M.D. (Hom) (Amendment) Regulations,20l2.
2. They shall come in to force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Homoeopathy (Post Graduate Degree Course) M.D. (Hom.) Regulations, l989,(hereinafter referred to as the said regulations) in regulation 2, clause/(d);
(a) for the words “recognized by the Central Council”, the words “permitted by the “Central Government” shall be substituted.
3. In regulation 3, of the said regulations, for sub-regulation (3), the following sub regulation shall be substituted, namely:
(3) The Course shall comprise of the following, nmely
(a) Special Subjects:
(i) Organon of Medicine;
(ii) Homoeopathic Materia Medica (including applied aspects);
(iii) Repertory;
(iv) Homoeopathic Pharmacy;
(v) Practice of Medicine;
(vi) Pediatrics; and
(vii) Psychiatry.
(b) A Candidate for MD Hom shall opt one of the subjects of speciality at the time of admission and the degree shall be awarded in that speciality.
Besides subjects of speciality every candidate has to appear in examination of three (subsidiary) subjects as given below
- Organon of Medicine
- Repertory
- Homoeopathic Materia Medica
Each course shall comprise of the following
(i) MD(Hom.) Organon of Medicine
(i) Homeopathic Philosophy and Organon of Medicine
(ii) Practice of Medicine
(iii)Materia Medica; or Repertory and
(iv) Research Methodology, Bio-statistics & History of Medicine.
(ii) MD (Hom) Materia
(i) Materia Medica
(ii) Practice of Medicine
(iii) Homoeopathic Philosophy and Organon of Medicine or Repertory, and
(iv) Research Methodology, Biostatistics and History of Medicine.
(iii) MD (Hom) Repertory
(i) Repertory
(ii) Practice of Medicine
(iii) Materia Medica or Homoeopathic Philosophy and Organon of Medicine, and
(iv) Research Methodology, Bio statistics and History of Medicine.
(iv) MD (Hom) Homoeopathic Pharmacy
(i)Homoeopathic Pharmacy
(ii) Practice of Medicine
(iii) Materia Medica or Homoeopathic Philosophy and Organon of medicine
(iv) Research Methodology. Bio statistics and History of Medicine.
(v) MD (Hom.) Practice of Medicine
(i) Practice of Medicine
(ii) Materia Medica .
(iii) Homoeopathic Philosophy and Organon of Medicine or Repertory
(iv) Research Methodology, Bio statistics and History of Medicine.
(vi) MD (Hom.) Paediatrics
(i) Paediatrics
(ii) Materia Medica
(iii) Homoeopathic Philosophy and Organon of Medicine or Repertory
(iv) Research Methodology, · Bio statistics and History of Medicine.
(vii) MD (Hom.) Psychiatry
(i) Psychiatry
(ii) Materia Medica V .
(iii) Homoeopathic Philosophy and Organon-of Medicine or Repertory
(iv) Research Methodology, Bio statistics and History of Medicine. _
4. In regulation 5 of the said regulations, the syllabus relating to “A. General Subjects” shall be omitted.
The syllabi of Research Methodology, Bio-statistics and History of Medicine shall be as under :-
- Basic knowledge of medical statistics, Nature of classification of Research works in Homoepathy with the help of recent advances in statistics
- Explanatory research work/confirmatory research work/experimental research work.
Elements of statistics:
- Introduction to biostatics including definition and scopeI
- Use of biostatics.
- Merits or demerits.
- Health information system in collection of data.
- Frequency distribution table.
- Presentation of date — tabular presentation pictograms.
- Graphical presentation.
- Contering constants-mean—median and mode.
- Measures of Variation — Range, interquartile range,average deviation, standard deviations, coefficient of variation.
- Normal distribution. ·
- Possession and binomial distribution.
- Standard error or mean.
- Confidence limits.
- Z Test.
- “F” Test.
- “T” Test — paired and unpaired.
- Chi-square test.
- Sampling.
- Correction and regression.
History of Medicine
- The History of Medicine of ancient times prevalent in Greece and India.
- History of Medicine of medieval time prevalent in Greece and India.
- History of Medicine (including Homoeopathy of Modem times in U.S.A., Germany, UK and India)
The syllabi of speciality subjects shall remain even for the subsidiary subjects for the purposes of examinations.
5. For regulation 7 of the said regulations, in clause (a), for sub-clause (i) the following sub clause shall be substituted namely
The student shall be declared Pass or Fail but no Marks shall be conveyed.
NB : The student shall be declared pass if he gets 40% Marks separately in theory and practical including viva voce examinations along with 50% in aggregate in each subject
8. In regulation 12 of the said regulations, for sub-regulation (1), the following sub regulation shall be substituted, namely:-
(l) Student Guide ratio: – `
(a) The student — Supervisor (Guide) ratio shall be 3:1 if the Guide or Supervisor is of Professor cadre. V
(b) The student — Supervisor (Guide) ratio shall be 2:1 if the Guide or Supervisor is of Reader cadre .
(c) The student — Supervisor (Guide) ratio shall be l1:1if the Guide or Supervisor is of Lecturer cadre.
Note- The supervisor (guide) shall be from the teaching faculty of the Homoeopathic College wherein the concerned student has taken admission
9. In regulation 12 of the said regulations, in sub regulation (2), in clause (a), for sub-clause (ii) the following Sub-clause shall be substituted, namely
1) Professor or Reader possessing a recognized Post Graduate Degree qualification in Homeopathy or a Lecturer holding a recognized Post Graduate Degree in Homoeopathy with eight years teaching experience as LecturerI l
10. In regulation 13 of the said regulations, for sub-regulation (2), the following sub-regulation shall be substituted, namely:-
“(2) A panel of eX3miI1ers shall be prepared by the University, which shall be approved by the Council”.
11. Regulation 14 of the said regulations, shall be omitted .

Sir,
Kindly add PSM in MD course it will be really beneficial for future in India.As there is lot of scope and future in this field.Even NGO`s,government sectors,private firm employ these PSM MD.
Preventive science is related to all the field of medicine I Guess.
Let`s make study to set a future goal and employment prospective.
