Chininum Sulp 200 a good homeopathy remedy to prevent malaria

A research conducted on “Efficacy of Chininum Sulphuricum 200 in prevention of malaria”  has shown a remarkable decline of over 53% in cases of the disease in field test areas.

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh government’s decision to distribute homeopathic medicine worth over Rs 2.5 crore for prevention of malaria in the state this year may come as a surprise. But armed with statistics about efficacy of Chininum Sulp 200, a homoeopathic anti-malarial drug, the state government is going ahead with its distribution.

The government is even prepared to bear the entire cost of medicine and its distribution if the Centre disagrees to fund it under its National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) programme.

Malaria happens to be a troublesome disease in Chhattisgarh, as on an average it claims about 45 lives each year (179 in the past four years) and affects the health of thousands of people.

The state has invested considerably in prevention of malaria and has a multi-crore rupee project of distributing medicated mosquito nets to nearly 9 lakh families free of cost. Besides the Centre has been chipping in with supply of thousands of kilograms of synthetic parathyroid, a medicated spray used to kill DDT resistant female anopheles mosquitoes.

According to JP Misra, executive director, state health resource centre, in a bid to prevent the large number of deaths (47) that occurred in the state in 2010, the state government had decided to distribute Chininum Sulphuricum, a quinine compound, in nine high API blocks (where malaria incidence is more than 2 per 1,000 population). These nine blocks spread in Korba, Koriya and Bilaspur districts (Where API was more than 15).

The results were astounding as areas where the medicine was administered recorded a decline of 53.80% in number of malaria cases, as against an increase of 2.80% in the non-intervention blocks.[Source]
