Dr Harsh Vardhan wants integration of AYUSH doctors in healthcare delivery

Dr. Harsh VardhanDr Harsh Vardhan – Minister for health and family welfare Govt. of India wants integration of AYUSH doctors in the healthcare delivery mechanism to solve the problem of manpower shortage.

He conceded that shortage of doctors is a big roadblock and that is the principal thing affecting availability of doctors in primary health centres.

Union Health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan Friday said the Medical Council of India (MCI) has been a “big source of corruption” so much so that it has weakened the very edifice of medical education in the country. A clean-up in the medical education regulator, he said, is on the cards.

“For a long time, the MCI has been a big source of corruption…instead of strengthening the component of medical education it has weakened it. I will go into the depth of it. I am not in favour of encroaching on its autonomy but the ministry should monitor and not allow them to be so corrupt. [Source]

  1. resp sir ,
salute 2 u,r positive approach. we ayush doctors in m.p. r serving in rural areas in phc & chc since 6 years(under NRHM scheme) with our medicines ,,participating in all national programmes, serving as sector medical officers, working with ashas and supervisors but all on contract basis and very low salary as compared to allo. doctors.we r ready to serve more but a salary hike is must. hoping for gud news.
from all ayush doctors of M.P.

  2. Dear Sir,
Homeopathy can become the first option in the line of treatment as far as non surgical treatment is concerned and if given an opportunity by the elite colleagues of other system of medicine .
We can enormously save the pricing as well as boost the immunity so in the longer run can make a healthier nation

  3. Resp sir, ur idea of integrated medical practice is welcome.we r fighting for tis cause since long year its right of every ayush dr in India to use allopathy drugs in primary health care management since we have undergone sufficient training n teaching, ter shld b informity throught India regarding rules for practice to ayush drs ‘one type syllabus one type practice ‘ -dr mahaveer haveri gen secretary ayush federation karnataka state

  4. Sir, Kindly seek attention to Central Council of Homoeopathy. Homeopathy is a very miraculous pathy but is not able to get a position that it deserves , also there are very less vacancies in government organisations

  5. Nothing to comment on this self explainatory post.
But itz eye opening statement to orgenisations who through media opposing Maharashtra govt to allow state Homoeopaths to use allopathic drigs after passing training course.
