How to send medicines to UAE – step by step information
Dr Mansoor Ali
Importing or sending medicines to UAE is not a difficult task
Residents and tourists who need to carry personal medicines to the UAE will have to first fill up an electronic form, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced on 15th October 2018.
The quantity of medicines to be brought to the country should not exceed a personal use period of three months for non-controlled medicines and one month for controlled and semi-controlled ones.
Applicants need to submit a prescription issued by the attending physician, a medical report approved by health entities and a copy of Emirates ID or passport.
Once they submit the form along with the required documents, the officer concerned in the drugs department examines the request and issues the approval.
If your medication does require prior approval, then you can create an account with MOHAP and submit an application for approval by visiting the following link: http://www.mohap.gov.ae/en/services/Pages/361.aspx
