Kerala PSC Tutor in Homeopathy Examinations 2011 – Guidelines

It  is high time for the aspirants to fine tune their strategy. SIMILIMA team has opened a war room especially to guide candidates on pattern of questions & methodology of preparation. This war room will be managed by efficient faculties who had cracked various competitive examinations. We wish to publish series of articles & materials in this section regularly until the exams in all subjects are over.

Guidelines
A comprehensive up-to-date and in-depth knowledge in all the 12  subject is essential.

Questions are of post-graduate standard
Questions : MCQ type questions

Time management
As per Kerala PSC exam pattern you will get only less than one minute for answering a question (100 questions to be answered with in one hour and fifteen minutes). The experiences of the author as well as many selected candidates show that you should have 95 or above correct answer out of  100 questions to get a call for interview.

Time limit is 1 hour & 15 minutes  and not 2 hrs

Date of Written Exam Kerala :  13.10.2011

Validity of Rank list : Probably 3 year
Total candidates applied for each subject : 1300-1400

Rank List : Probably separate rank list will be published for each subjects as in allopathic system  medicine (not yet finalised). They have common examination but separate rank lists.

Marks : 1 for each correct answer . 1/3 Marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Total questions : 100

Pattern of questions
Subjects : Pathology, Repertory, Surgery, Ptractice of Medicine, Materia Medica, Anatomy,Physiology (Date of Organon & Pharmacy will be published later and will be conducted as separate exam)

Syllabus: An Objective Type Test (OMR Valuation) based on the qualification prescribed for the post.

Main Topics:-1.Anatomy 2.Physiology including Bio-chemistry, 3.Organon of Medicine 4.Homoeopathic Pharmacy, 5.Homoeopathic Materia Medica and Therapeutics.6.Pathology and Micro-biology,7.Forensic Medicine and Toxicology 8.Practice of Medicine,9.Surgery 10.Obstetrics & Gynaecology,11.Community Medicine 12.Castetaking and Repertory.

Candidates should study all the 12 subjects of BHMS syllabus. No direction on division of questions  from KPSC so far.

Selection Criteria in Kerala
Marks in Written test + Interview + BHMS  + PG in concerned subject

1. Written Test : Maximum 100 marks
2. Interview : maximum 20 marks
3. BHMS : as mentioned in table
4. PG in the concerned subject : Considered only as a preferential qualification – means If two candidates have equal marks in the above 3, then preference will be given to PG holder who had completed and obtained certificates before last date of application.

Remember that there is no magic formula for success in a Tutor PSC exam. Good preparation, judicious application of common sense and self-confidence are the key factors that will help us in a competitive exam.

Kerala Government offering excellent carrier opportunities for young homoeopaths through their Tutor PSC Examinations conducted by Kerala Public Service Commission. Selected doctors will be posted as Tutors in two Government Homeopathic Medical Colleges in Kerala at Calicut & Trivandrum in the pay scale of Rs.12,930 – 20,250 (Probably enhanced to 15,600 – 39,600 this year itself). In West Bengal Pay is  : Rs. 9,000/- – Rs.40,500/- plus Grade Pay Rs.5,400/- (Besides pay, the posts carry allowances as admissible)
