This program prepares health professionals from a broad range of backgrounds, with knowledge and skills from a variety of disciplines, to define, critically assess and resolve public health and nutrition problems. Various fields of study allow students to focus on Indian public health issues and international public health, including nutrition and tropical health.
The School works on “hubs and spokes” model linking many departments that include Medicine, Engineering, Nursing and Management.
Master of Public Health is a full time Post Graduate program. The medium of Instruction will be English. The program includes core courses and electives which can be selected from a range of options. The program will be offered on campus. The 1st year is common comprising of 2 semesters. The second year students chose their respective specialization and go on to do their dissertation in the final semester.
Objectives
The MPH program seeks to provide students with an in depth understanding of issues in public health principles and practice, and apply this to the specific challenges in delivery, research, planning and management of health services in their national context. The learning outcomes are:

In the second year students will be given an opportunity to specialize in

Students take summer projects on completing the 1st year and faculty guide them through these summer projects. This summer project provides them the knowledge to meet the demands of the Industry when they get placed. They also take 6 months internship in the 4th semester. The faculty guides them with their dissertations and students return for their viva voce which establishes their scores for obtaining the degree.
Faculty Mentorship for Students
A unique mentorship ideal where each student is assigned a faculty who will be a mentor at the beginning of the program. The role of the mentor stands as a source of professional guidance throughout the program and beyond.
Admission Criteria
Graduates who have a pass in MBBS, Ayush, Engineering, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dentistry, Nursing, Veterinary Sciences. Arts & Science graduates with a minimum of 55% aggregate are eligible to apply.
Foreign Students with the above said qualification are encouraged to apply through the International cell. Their selection will be based on marks secured in the qualifying examination and relevant work experience.
