Applications are invited in prescribed format from eligible Indian nationals for the position of technical officer at WHO’s South East Asian Regional Office (SEARO), New Delhi in the grade equivalent to the P4 level in the professional grading scale of WHO initially for a period of two years on purely contract basis.

Summary of Assigned Duties
Under the overall guidance of Director, Health Systems Development and direct supervision of the Regional Advisor for traditional medicine, the incumbent will undertake the following tasks in collaboration with other relevant technical programmes, national counterparts and partner:
Functional Knowledge and Skills Essential: Good knowledge of clinical research in traditional medicine and/or regulatory system strengthening, specifically for traditional medicine products quality control and safety monitoring and, good knowledge of public health programme planning, implementation and evaluation and, ability to work harmoniously as a member of a team, adapt to diverse educational and cultural backgrounds and maintain a high standard of personal conduct Desirable: Experience in health system research
Education Qualifications Essential: University degree in Traditional medicine recognized under IMCC act 1971 or HCC act 1979 and PG in any speciality of Traditional Medicine or Public Health.
Desirable: Degree in modern allopathic medicine
Experience: Essential: At least 7 years of experience in traditional medicine, clinical research or regulatory system strengthening, particularly for traditional medicine products quality control and safety monitoring some of which should have been obtained in an international context
Desirable: Experience in the health systems and public health programme of countries of SEA Region, both of traditional medicine and allopathic medicine Languages:
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and knowledge of local language. Other Skills (e.g. IT): Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel computer skills for making high quality data analysis and technical presentations
