A good exercise in learning more about remedies for bites and stings is to study Materia Medica for each of the remedies listed below. Investigating these remedies will give a better picture of each of them and the reasons to prescribe them.

- Urtica Urens – Itching, stinging allergic reactions with urticaria.
- Belladonna – Stings of insects especially in the mouth. Anaphylactic shock.
- Lachesis – blue discoloration of the skin. Swellings from venomous bites.
- Plantago – Topically like Calendula very soothing for bee and wasp stings.
- Carbolic Acid – Allergic reactions after bites and stings. Anaphylactic shock.
- Hypericum – When bites and stings are extremely painful.
- Latrodectus Mactans – Poisonous stings and bites, esp spider bites. Pain in the affected part. Heart palpitations.
- Vespa Crabro – Stings from bees and wasps with a cutting sensation or being pulled by a hook.
- Tarantula Cubensis – Great restlessness. Burning pains and septic conditions
