In the seemingly unending series of pre-election sops for various segments of society, it was the turn of house surgeons and Ayush doctors in Odisha. The Odisha government announced hikes in the monthly stipend to house surgeons as well as salaries of Ayush doctors serving in the state government run hospitals.
While the monthly stipend for house surgeons working in the state since 2013-14 has been hiked to Rs 15,000, the salary of Ayush doctors has been hiked to Rs 17,000 from the present Rs 12,000.
The hike, which will come into effect from April 1 this year, will benefit 1516 Ayush doctors in the state.
The revision of monthly stipend for house surgeons will remain effective for three years.This was announced by Health minister Dr Damodar Rout. [Source]
