Training Courses under NRHM & Public Health Foundation

Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Management
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India under NRHM ( National Rural Health Mission) has launched various Post Graduate Diploma Courses in Health Sector, with the  partnership of Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), CMC Vellore Tamil Nadu & BITS Pilani & other Govt. organizations for developing public health management skills to handle public health related issues in India.
The following Post Graduate Diploma Courses have been contemplated in the various Institutions spread across various States in India.

Name of the Course

• 1. Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Management
• 2. Post Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine Course
• 3. Post Graduate Diploma in Epidemiology
• 4. Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Informatics

Out of above four courses, Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Management has already been started by Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) in their  institutions located in Ahmedabad, New Delhi & Hyderabad, NIHFW New Delhi, JIPMER Puducherry, MGIMS Sewagram Wardha Maharashtra and AIIH&PH Kolkata.

PGDPHM is 12 month residential programme fully sponsored by the Government.

Candidates are nominated by respective State Governments.

Post-graduate diploma course in Public Health Nutrition
This area of study is particularly suitable for people whose employment overlaps the nutritional area such as  health workers, medical practitioners, dieticians, pharmacists, nurses, health educators and teachers, and those who wish to avail themselves of contemporary  ideas in human nutrition.

In an effort to provide a direction to nutrition research in the country, with the objective to bridge the gap and contribute towards training future leaders  in the field of nutrition, at the Public Health Foundation of India, propose a one year online post-graduate diploma course in Public Health Nutrition for  the benefit of all stakeholders.

This postgraduate diploma aims to provide comprehensive training in public health nutrition in a global setting with the choice of specializing in a number  of topics and in a range of contexts. It provides an integrated programme covering dietary, epidemiological, public health, social and biological aspects of  nutritional science. Specialist topics include biostatistics, maternal and child nutrition, food policy, nutrition programme planning, monitoring and  evaluation, and nutritional epidemiology.
