Abstract:
Ophidia group contains many major remdies in our materia medica. Though there are literatures available for a particular remedy in group, ophidia as a group isn’t well understood in tri miasmatic aproach. Also, there isn’t much light upon the evolution of mind of ophidia as a group. This article is an attempt at tracing the symptoms of ophidia group at a tri miasmatic level.
Introduction:
The word snake comes from ‘Old English word- snaca’ and ‘Proto-Indo-European base – snag’ which means ‘to crawl’. The word serpent is a synonym for snake that is derived from Old French- ‘serp’ which means ‘to creep. Ophidia from ancient greek word – ophis, snake.
Ophidia group is having variety of serpent remedies. Among the three kingdoms, the degree of readily available energy seems to be greater in the animals. As the snake venoms have potent effect surely and quickly, ophidia group study becomes one of the important aspect to learn materia medica. The more angry the snake is, more potent is its venom.

Conclusion:
As per the above study, it is evident that ophidia group of remedies are predominantly syco – syphilitic. Ophidia group of remedies are suspicious, jealous, anxious and loquacious. Also, there is a destructive tendency and action on blood and tissues. The complaints are ameliorated by warmth and spring aggravation is seen. As group study can help a homoeopath deduct vast materia medica into parts, it’s easy to understand and learn remedies individually when group characteristics are well known. It is very important to understand the group in mental, physical and also in miasmatic level.
