But you should not neglect other subjects also.<\/p>\n Examinations Total 5 hours<\/strong> : ( 3 hrs in morning & 2 hrs in after noon)<\/p>\n Questions will be of UPSC standard<\/p>\n Candidates Should have a thorough knowledge of all medicines in Key note. Generally many questions are asked from Relationship part of the book. Candidates\u00a0 should recollect comparison that is given in the book. A detailed understanding of Boericke`s materia medica is also\u00a0 expected. Questions regarding Common name of drugs are also asked. Family wise study of medicine should be done.<\/p>\n Questions regarding History of\u00a0repertory,<\/strong> different repertories their philosophical background, year of publications, word\u00a0 meaning, grading of rubrics, Computer repertories, Card repertories are asked usually. Some rubrics with their chapters,\u00a0 rubrics in Kent’s repertory in which only one medicine is given are also asked<\/p>\n Questions regarding\u00a0drug preparation<\/strong>, Pharmacopoea, source of drugs, rules& regulations are asked usually.<\/p>\n For other subjects prescribed text book of the B.H.M.S course can be used. MCQ questions of these subjects can be read from\u00a0 the post graduate entrance guides mentioned below.<\/p>\n Remember An up-to-date knowledge about various\u00a0occupational diseases<\/strong> affecting employees (etiology, clinical features, complications, management, homeopathic remedies, rubrics etc..) is required along with its impact on national economy.<\/p>\n About ESIC<\/strong><\/p>\n HISTORY The ESI Act 1948, encompasses certain health related eventualities that the workers are generally exposed to; such as sickness, maternity, temporary or permanent disablement, Occupational disease or death due to employment injury, resulting in loss of wages or earning capacity-total or partial. Social security provision made in the Act to counterbalance or negate the resulting physical or financial distress in such contingencies, are thus, aimed at upholding human dignity in times of crises through protection from deprivation, destitution and social degradation while enabling the society the retention and continuity of a socially useful and productive manpower.<\/p>\n COVERAGE<\/strong><\/p>\n The provision of the Act are being implemented area wise by stages. The Act contains an enabling provision under which the Appropriate Government is empowered to extend the provision of the Act to other classes of establishments–<\/p>\n Under these provisions State Governments have extended the provisions of the ESI Act to the following classes of establishments.<\/p>\n The ESI Act is applicable to over two lakh industrial units, across the length and breadth of the country.<\/p>\n CONTRIBUTION<\/strong><\/p>\n It is obligatory on the part of the employer to calculate and remit ESI Contribution comprising of employers’ share 4.75% plus employees’ share of 1.75% which is payable on or before 21st of the following month, to the month to which the salary relates. If the employee is drawing upto Rs.50\/- as daily average wage, he is exempt from the payment of his share of contribution. \n<\/strong>Examinations will be held at Delhi on 25th<\/sup> October 2009. In this exam \u00a0multiple choice questions <\/strong>will be asked. \n<\/strong>The promulgation of employees\u2019 State Insurance Act, 1948(ESI Act), by the Parliament was the first major legislation on social Security for workers in independent India. It was a time when the industry was still in a nascent stage and the country was heavily dependent on an assortment of imported goods from the developed or fast developing countries.<\/p>\n\n

\n<\/strong>Insured persons and their dependants are entitled to full medical care from day one of taking up employment in any factory or establishment covered under the ESI Act 1948. The comprehensive package includes primary medical care, specialist and diagnostic services, in-patient care with provision for all super specialist facilities.<\/p>\n
\nSickness Benefit is paid in cash to the insured persons to compensate their loss of wages in the event of sickness certified by an authorized medical officer. It is admissible for 91 days in an year and the cash benefit is equal to 50% of the wages.<\/p>\n
\nMaternity Benefit is admissible to insured women in the event of confinement or miscarriage etc. for 12 weeks and the rate of about 100 percent of the wages<\/p>\n
\nTemporary Disablement benefit is paid in cash till the incapacity due to employment injury lasts at the rate of 70% of the wages. In case of permanent physical disablement due to employment injury or occupational disease, disablement benefit is paid for life at a rate proportionate to loss of earning capacity as determined by the medical board.<\/p>\n
\nDependants benefit is paid as family pension to the dependants of a deceased insured person in the event of death due to employment injury or occupational disease and is equivalent to about 70% of the wages.<\/p>\n\n
