Action on Nervous System
\nConium Mac
\n<\/strong>It acts as a depressor of Cerebro-spinal system
\nThis acts up on Motor nerves producing Paralysis-which spreads from below upwards.<\/p>\n

Cicuta Virosa
\n<\/strong>Produces congestion at the base of the brain & in the medulla oblongata.
\nIt produces local & general spasms and paralysis.<\/p>\n

Cicuta Maculata
\n<\/strong>Similar to Cicuta virosa

\nAethusa
\n<\/strong>A frightful poison, having narcoic properties as well as Paralyzing effects.
\nAthamantha :There is a dull, befogged condition of brain.
\nOenanthe crocata :Acts up on cerebro-spinal axis, Convulsions
\nPhellandrium Aquaticum :Acts upon nerves Neuralgias, especially Neuralgic headache
\nPetroselinum Sativum : Acts up on nerves, Neuralgia, especially Neuralgic dysmenorrhoea.
\nApium Graveolens : It causes nervous irritation, feeling of \u201cfidgets\u201d, Inability to sit still in bed, Cannot keep mind from thinking
\nPastinaca : Irritability of gastric nerves depressed, emetics in double the usual doses have no effect.
\nAsafoetida : It is a stimulant to the brain & Nervous system.
\nThere is hysterical & nervous symptom of a flatulent character.

Action on Mucous Membrane
\n<\/strong>Conium Mac – Acts on M.M of Respiratory tract, tracheo bronchial; catarrha, sprmodic cough
\nEryngium Aquaticum –\u00a0 Acts on Mucous Membrane producing thick yellow discharges from eyes, ears, nose, mouth, urethra, vagina etc. Repiratory tract,Cough with a sensation of constriction
\nAmmoniacum gummi –\u00a0 M.M of Respiratory tract is affected,Chronic bronchitis associated with profuse secretion within the tubes with difficulty in raising it.
\nSumbul – Produces Nasal & Phryngeal Catarrha, discharge of tenacious, yellow mucus.
\nPetroselinum – Stimulates the bronchial Mucons Membrane
\nPhellandrium – M.M of Respiratory tract, Catarrhal symptoms with profuse expectoration
\nOenanthe Crocata – Respiratory Mucous Membrane, frothy mucus.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Cicuta Virosa :Produces Pustular eruption with yellow Crusts.
\nPetroselinum :-Stimulates the skin \u00e0 Eruptions
\nAethura :Produces herpetic eruption
\nAmmoniacum :-Produces Eruptions
\nApium Gravealens :-Urticaria always appearing with intense itching with rapid change of location.
\nGranulating ulcers with profuse discharge.
\nHydrocotyle
\n<\/strong>Acne, eczema, Pemphigus
\nLupus, covered with papular eruptions
\nThick crust covering yellow pus
\nLeprosy
\nOenanthe Crocata :- Leprosy, Lehthyosis<\/p>\n

Thus the action of these drugs
\n<\/strong>On Nervous system is a sort of abnormal excitability, Convulsions.
\nOn Glandular system – Enlargement or atrophy.
\nOn M.M – Catarrh with profuse secretions
\nOn skin – Pustular eruption<\/p>\n

Oaenanthe crocata <\/strong>(C-N- Water drop wort.)
\nCharacteristics.<\/strong>
\nThis remedy is indicated in Convulsions that are epileptiform in character and in epilepsy.
\nPeculiar symptoms in convulsions
\nCold as if dead during convulsions.
\nNoise in throat as if being choked.
\nBurning heat.
\nNumbness.
\nLegs Streteched Straight Out.
\nAll Symptoms<from water.
\nIt is also of service in cases of Leprosy & ichthyosis also where there are red spots on the face.
\nUseful in Sciatica also.<\/p>\n

Aethusa cynapium <\/strong>Fool\u2019s Parsley.
\nTincture of Whole Flowering Plant.<\/p>\n

Charactaristics<\/strong>
\nViolence is one of the notes of its Action
\nviolent vomiting, violent convulsions, violent Pains& violent delirium.
\nOn the other hand there is prostration & Somnolence.
\nIt is known as \u201cFool\u2019s Parsley\u201d – because it is indeed a medicine for \u201cfools\u201d \u2013 There is great weakness of mind of body. One very charactaristic symptom is \u201cInability to think or fix the attention\u201d.<\/p>\n

Other mental Symptoms
\n<\/strong>Idiocy- in Some Case alternating with furor.
\nHallucinations&Delirium- Sees Cats & dogs,& wants to jump out of bed or out of the window.
\nAnother marked characteristic is Intolerance of milk,Vomiting of milk in Curds
\nThere is great weakness & exhaustion after vomiting . Child is so enhanced, that\u00a0 It falls asleep at once.
\nAwakens hungry, cats & vomits again.Hungry after vomiting is the keynote here.
\nFace -Herpetic eruption top of nose;
\nAlong with gastic symptoms, expression of anxiety or pain.<\/p>\n

Convulsions
\n<\/strong>Eye are turned downwards
\nAll symptoms are < 3 to 4 A.M

Sium
\n<\/strong>Water-Parsnip Tincture of the root
\nOur knowledge of water-parsnip is derived from cases of poisoning through eating the root. The symptoms bear a strong resemblance to those of the other poisonons umbeliferae . The most pronounced features are the drawing of the
\n– Arms to the middle of the body.
\n– \u00a0Flexure of the fingers
\n– \u00a0Preponderance to the contraction on left side.<\/p>\n

Sumbul<\/strong>
\nMusk -root
\nTincture of the powdered root
\nSumbul as its name, \u201c Musk-root\u201d- implies , has an odour resembling that of musk. The resemblance is so close that sumbul is used to adulterate musk. Symptoms are similar to that of Moschus.<\/p>\n

Indications<\/strong>
\n1) Nasal & Pharyrgeal catarrha, with nervousness, sleeplessness & tendency to spasms. (especially in children), discharge of tenacious yellow mucus.
\n2) Ascardes, with bloated, drum-like abdomen & constipation, picking nose
\n3) Oily pellicle in urine
\n4) Pain in left uterine region
\n5) Asthma: Catarrhal, spasmodic or cardiac
\n6) Climacteric flushing
\n7) Neuralgia : facial or ovarian , in women of quick & lively nervous constitutions.
\n8) Neuralgia of Left hypochondria, simulating angina pectoris, with Palpitation in nervous women.
\n9) Insomnia of chronic alcoholism.
\n10) Left side is more affected than the right.<\/p>\n

Peculiar Sensations
\n<\/strong>Tongue as if scraped
\nLike a string pulling in right breast
\nCork screw pains in left side of uterns & appendages
\nAs if heart beating in water

\nPetroselinum Sativum
\nFresh plant when coming in to bloom<\/p>\n

Characteristics<\/strong>
\nPetroselinum is referred to by Hahnemann as a gonorrhocal remedy when frequent desire to urinate exists. It was proved by Bethman. The main sphere of Action is Genito-urinary Tract.
\nLeading indications are
\n1) Sudden urging to urinate and drawing, tingling, crawling or itching in navicular fossa.
\n2) During micturition , burning & tingling from perineum through whole urethra.
\n3) After urination cutting biting in fossa navicularis
\n4) Milky or yellow discharge.
\nWith this indiaction, it is an important remedy for gonorrhoea and gleet, dysuria from prostate enlargements, urinary difficulties of children etc.<\/p>\n

Phellandrium aquaticum<\/strong>
\nWater dropwort
\nTincture of fresh ripe fruit<\/p>\n

Characteristics<\/strong>
\nThe Symptoms show a general resemblance to those of the poisonous unbelliferae .It is distinguished from the rest in its particular features.
\nProving development many symptoms in both mammae, especially the right, with stitches shooting inward.
\nThe key note<\/strong> is \u201c Intolerable pain in lactiferous tubes between the acts of nursing\u201d, It has also \u201cPain in nipples on each application of child\u201d. Either the breast may be effected but the right breast and nipple are more affected than the left .
\nIt is an important drug for q the chest affections especially right sided affections.
\nThe cough is continuous & Suffocating
\nSputa purulent and horribly offensive.
\nWith this symptoms it can be used in P.T.B
\nGastric Symptoms
\nOffensive Eructation smelling of bed-bugs
\nThere is burning as from vesicles on the tongue & again the right border
\nNausea, sick empty faint feeling in epigastria.
\n\u201cDesire for acids\u201d is a strong symptom.
\nHeadache & Eye symptoms
\nHeadache involving the eyes, with inflammation of the eyes.
\nHeavy headache as if a crushing weight were on the vertex – as if the head would be drawn back by a weight in the nape
\nSense of enlargement of the head with fullness.
\nSymptoms are < Open air, after spirituous drinks during & after eating<\/p>\n

Pastinaca<\/strong>
\nTincture of roots of 2 nd year
\nCommon Name – Parsnip
\n
\nCharacteristics <\/strong>
\nThe root of the parsnip, after the I st year, is very poisonous & some cases of poisoning have been observed, the symptoms of which make up the schema. A state of perfect \u201c delirium tremens \u201c was observed in several persons, illusions of vision, catching at imaginary objects; fighting with one another. A peculiar effect was produced on the stomach, the irritability was depressed and emetics would not act.<\/p>\n
